Grow Your Own Pathway to Teaching

    This program is a two-year preparatory program for high school students interested in pursuing a career and/or college degree in education or related fields after graduation. During the program students will study human learning and development, instructional techniques, classroom management, and school issues. They will also have the opportunity to practice their knowledge in classroom settings. This course is open to juniors and seniors.

Instructor Danielle Crouch

Ms. Crouch completed her B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Concord University. She earned her Master’s Degree in Communications from WVU. Ms. Crouch taught in Fayette County schools for 22 years before joining the faculty at FIT.

“My goal is to assist in giving high school students a fast-track into the education field through a combination of dual enrollment courses through Glenville University and hands-on observations in education classrooms. My hope is to instill a love for teaching in the future generation of educators to help with the critical need for teachers.”
