Tourism Industries
The Tourism Industries Program encompasses the social, cultural, economic, and psychological motivators that move people to work in the recreation and tourism industry. Students in this program will discover leadership, management, and social relationship skills that will lead them to a full-time career in the recreation and tourism industry. Students completing this program will have the skillsets through hands-on experiences to become guides, instructors, interpreters, managers, program directors, park rangers, and tourism operators. Program participants will also be able to earn college credit through the EDGE program and articulation agreements. The course is open to all junior and senior students.
Instructor David "Tug" Chamberlin
Mr. Chamberlin has over thirty years of experience in the tourism industry with a significant emphasis in commercial outdoor recreation.
His vision is to change the perception of the hospitality and tourism industry in Fayette County from that of a dead-end profession to one that supports families, creates lifelong employment opportunities, and improves the quality of life, not only to those in the industry but also the community that surrounds and embraces that industry.

- M.S. Parks, Recreation, & Tourism, University of Utah
- Worked in the Commercial Recreation Industry in Fayette County since 1990
- Worked for multiple ski resorts since 1993, including Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort, Timberline, and Winterplace
